The prospects for the supply of Turkmen gas and electricity to Azerbaijan were discussed in Ashgabat by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Minister of Economy of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov, reports the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
“During the negotiations, special attention was paid to interaction in the fuel and energy sector”, - the Turkmen Foreign Ministry emphasizes in a statement.
During the meeting, the parties noted the dynamic development of bilateral relations, especially emphasizing the importance of high-level negotiations for strengthening the political and diplomatic dialogue.
The ministers noted the constant growth in trade turnover between the countries and outlined ways to expand trade ties, including the search for new forms of partnership.
In addition, issues of transport communications, the use of seaports, cooperation in the field of IT and telecommunications were discussed.
The cultural and humanitarian sphere is named as an important component of bilateral relations. In this regard, a number of joint events are planned for the 300th anniversary of the birth of Magtymguly Fragi.
The heads of the ministries emphasized that the cultural and historical commonality of the two peoples creates a solid basis for the development of comprehensive cooperation.
