8 medals - 2 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze - were won by Turkmen athletes at the 2023 World Kurash Wrestling Championships, which takes place in Ashgabat.
Gold medals in the Turkmenistan team were awarded to Dinara Rozykulova (up to 63 kg) and Maria Lohova (up to 70 kg), silver medals to Ayshirin Haydarova (up to 48 kg), Aynur Amanova (up to 52 kg) and Sanjar Abdyrahmanov (up to 90 kg), and bronze medals to – Gulshat Annaeva (up to 57 kg), Ruslan Esgerov (up to 100 kg) and Sapa Sapaev (over 100 kg).
The World Kurash Wrestling Championship takes place in Ashgabat from November 23 to 28.
