The title of the most courageous Alabai of 2023 in Turkmenistan was awarded to a dog named Akhan, belonging to the Ministry of National Security. He became the winner of the competition, which was held today in Ashgabat within the framework of the celebrations in honor of the Turkmen Alabai Day celebrated on the last Sunday in October.
As the “Watan” news program announced, ten of the best Alabai athletes from various regions of the country, selected at the preliminary stages and evaluated by an authoritative jury, advanced to the final round.
The owners showed off the appearance and training of their faithful friends with dignity. Numerous fans of this unique dog breed were able to appreciate not only their amazing appearance, but also the courage and training shown during the competition, during which the dog handler guides the dog through an obstacle course made of standard equipment. When passing them, speed and accuracy are taken into account.
At the award ceremony, the winner of the competition, Alabai Akhan, whose nickname translates as “White han”, was awarded a special medal, a Challenge Cup and a diploma, and representatives of the Ministry of National Security received the main prize of the President of Turkmenistan – the keys to a Toyota Camry. The winner was trained for the competition by instructor Begench Bakeev. The keeper of the alabai is soldier Mergen Annamyradov.
Last year, the dog Gonurhan, belonging to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, was recognized as the most courageous Alabai.
