Turkmen chess players successfully performed at the World Cadet Championship in Egypt

Young Turkmen chess players successfully performed at the world championship among cadets (children) under 8, 10 and 12 years old, which was held from October 15 to 26 in the city of Sharm el-Sheikh (Egypt), the country’s Chess Federation reports.

The best result was shown by Maksat Avlyakuliev, who performed in the category among boys under 8 years old. Having scored 7 points out of 11 possible, he ended up in 19th place among 80 participants.

Rauf Yusupov (under 12 years old, 6.5 points, 28th place among 92 participants), Nebahat Muradova (under 12 years old, 5.5 points, 35th place among 74 participants), Pervana Serdarova (under 10 years old, 6 points, 22nd place among 70 participants), Dunya Ruslanova (under 8 years old, 6 points, 26th place among 63 participants) and Alihan Batyrov (under 10 years old, 6 points, 38th place among 112 participants) .

Following the results of the tournament, the title of “World Champion” was awarded to Roman Shogjiev (under 8 years old, Russia), Danis Kuandykuly (under 10 years old, Kazakhstan), Dau Huong Duy (under 12 years old, Vietnam), Bodana Sivanandan (girls under 8 years old, England) , Zue Tianhao (girls under 10 years old, China) and Gunavardhana Devindya Oshini (girls under 12 years old, Sri Lanka). In total, about 600 children from 67 countries took part in the tournament.

It is planned that the next start for Turkmen chess players will be the World Championship among boys and girls under 14, 16 and 18 years old, which will be held in the city of Montesilvano (Italy) in November.
