The American company Agility Robotics is opening the world's first plant for the production of humanoid robots Digit, writes Vc.ru.
Digit's robots are designed to help people in warehouses and factories. They can move with two legs, including on steps, have two arms that can grab various objects, and also crouch when necessary to move in low rooms. The robots are powered by rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.
The robots are planned to be used in production - they will be able to unload containers, transfer objects onto a pallet or conveyor and back, and carry materials around the plant.
When asked whether Digit robots will take away jobs from people, the creators replied that the demand for support staff in factories and factories is still high, many workers are retiring or simply changing their field of activity, so the presence of robots as support workers will not have an impact on unemployment.
