The Consul General of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation visited Nizhny Novgorod to discuss opportunities for expanding cooperation

A delegation led by the Consul General of Turkmenistan in the Russian Federation (Kazan) Guych Garayev visited Nizhny Novgorod to discuss the possibilities of expanding areas of interaction.

Turkmen representatives met with the leadership of the Nizhny Novgorod region: acting. Deputy Governor Andrey Sanosyan, Minister of International and Interregional Relations Olga Guseva and representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry in Nizhny Novgorod Sergey Malov, reports news.rambler.ru.

Stressing that today interaction between Turkmenistan and the Russian region is developing dynamically and consistently, the parties came to a common opinion on the need to expand cooperation.
Andrey Sanosyan noted:

“The Nizhny Novgorod region has a long history of cooperation with Turkmenistan, especially in the fields of mechanical engineering, metallurgy, energy and transport. During the discussion, we came to a common opinion on the need to expand our mutual activities with the involvement of industrial, infrastructural, scientific and educational potential. I am confident that today’s meeting will be an excellent foundation for the development of new joint projects.”

The Ministry of International and Interregional Relations of the Nizhny Novgorod Region believes that Turkmenistan has been an important strategic partner of the region for many years. Turkmen enterprises productively interact with Nizhny Novgorod companies, and students from Turkmenistan often take part in various events in the region.

Olga Guseva emphasized that the education sector is one of the successful areas of interaction between the Nizhny Novgorod region and Turkmenistan. More than 600 students from Turkmenistan study at universities in Nizhny Novgorod. They actively represent their country, participating in such events as “Arzamas Goose”, “Chkalov Fishing” and many others, and also show great interest in the Russian language in various Olympiads, conferences and competitions.

“We hope that the citizens of Turkmenistan will continue to support Nizhny Novgorod projects,” she said.

The Turkmen delegation, in turn, emphasized the importance of expanding the areas of interaction. Guych Garayev noted that the potential for cooperation is great, especially in the educational sphere.

“Citizens of Turkmenistan who want to study abroad choose Russian universities, so we should continue to work in this direction. We have a lot to strive for, so our plans are to exchange business delegations to discuss further work,” the diplomat said.
