At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Deputy Minister Mahri Byashimova met with the new Ambassador of Canada to Turkmenistan (with residence in Astana) Alan Hamson. During the meeting, the ambassador presented copies of his credentials.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Mahri Bashimova congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in developing relations between the two countries.
During the conversation, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, including within the framework of international and regional organizations.
The diplomats agreed to hold inter-MFA consultations in 2024 and consider the possibility of improving the legal framework.
Among the promising areas of cooperation were the trade and economic area, the fuel and energy sector, “green energy” and the education sector.
