1. The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on his birthday. In a message on behalf of the Halk Maslahaty, Hero-Arkadag wished the head of state success in activities aimed at ensuring the further prosperity of Turkmenistan and increasing its economic power.
2. On September 24, the next meeting of the supreme authority of Turkmenistan, the Halk Maslahaty, will be at the Palace of Congresses. On this occasion, city buses in Ashgabat were decorated with slogans. Bright green inscriptions on the white sides of city buses create the atmosphere of an approaching important date.
3. An event dedicated to the 32nd anniversary of the independence of Turkmenistan was held in Ankara with the support of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Türkiye and the Youth Council of the Turkic World. The event was attended by representatives of Turkmen and Turkish authorities, the public, science and culture. Participants of the event were presented with reports on the achievements of Turkmenistan over the years of independence in various fields, as well as on the prospects for the development of Turkmen-Turkish relations. Particular attention was paid to the foreign policy of Turkmenistan, aimed at ensuring peace, stability and sustainable development in the region and the world.
4. Federal President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier will receive in Berlin on September 29 the Presidents of five Central Asian countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The meeting and joint photographing ceremony will be held at Bellevue Palace, the official residence of the Federal President of Germany.
5. The delegation of Turkmenistan led by the Commissioner for Human Rights Yazdursun Gurbannazarova took part in the 28th annual general meeting and Conference of the Asia-Pacific Forum of national human rights institutions (APF), which was held in New Delhi. The purpose of the visit was to familiarize with the experience of other countries in the field of human rights protection and strengthen cooperation with APF. At a meeting in New Delhi, the Ombudsman of Turkmenistan spoke about the work carried out by the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in Turkmenistan to protect human rights and freedoms.
6. At the State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan in Mary, the UAE Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan organized an information campaign dedicated to COP28. Within the framework of the campaign, a seminar was held on the topic “Joint efforts of the UAE and Turkmenistan to protect the environment through the implementation of projects in the field of renewable energy sources”. The event was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to Turkmenistan Ahmed Al Hameli.

7. A tourist from Switzerland, vacationing with her husband on the island of Sardinia in Italy, took pity on the lobster she ordered for dinner and released it into the sea. A woman and her husband came to one of the fish restaurants on the island and decided to order lobster. The waiter brought a still live lobster, which after weighing was valued at 200 euros. The tourist suddenly felt sorry for him, and she asked whether a live lobster would break if thrown back into the sea from a height. Having received a negative answer, she took the crustacean to the shore and threw it into the sea.
8. Sad news came from the Moscow Zoo - the famous polar bear named Dixon, rescued a year ago after being seriously wounded in the Arctic, has died. Last year, an injured polar bear was found paralyzed in a garbage heap on Dixon Island. It turned out that the bear was shot and the shot damaged its spine, paralyzing its hind legs. Dixon was flown to Moscow for treatment. Contrary to fears, Dixon began to recover. He interacted with zoo employees and loved to tinker with the gifts that were regularly sent to him. Dixon died in his sleep from cardiopulmonary failure leading to cardiac arrest.

9. The dates for the matches of the 18th round of the Turkmenistan football championship have become known. The current champion “Ahal” will play against the leader of the standings “Arkadag” on Sunday, September 24. This meeting will be held at the “Nisa” stadium and will begin at 16:30 Ashgabat time.
10. Eight Turkmen judokas arrived in Hangzhou for the XIX Summer Asian Games, which start on Saturday, September 23. The team, which consists of four men and four women, spent the last 1.5 months at competitions and training camps in Europe and Asia, where they were intensively preparing for the main complex competitions of this year. In the men's team, great hopes are placed on Hekim Agamammedov (up to 66 kg), who leads the ranking among Turkmen judokas. In the women's team, Zulhumar Dashkinova (weight category up to 63 kg), who celebrated her 22nd birthday the day before, has a good chance of winning an Olympic license.
11. “Merv” played a draw with Kulyab “Ravshan” in the opening match of the group stage of the 2023/24 AFC Cup. The meeting was held in Tajikistan and ended with a score of 0:0. After the first round, both teams have one point. In the next round on October 5, “Merv” will play at home against the Kyrgyz “Abdysh-Ata”, and “Ravshan” will play against the Ashgabat “Altyn Asyr” away.
