The Turkmen national freestyle wrestling team has announced its roster for the World Championships, which will be held in Belgrade (Serbia) from September 16 to 24. The competition will feature freestyle, Greco-Roman and women's wrestling.

Turkmenistan will be represented by six freestyle wrestlers in four weight categories:

70 kg: Perman Hommadov and Kakageldy Agayev

79 kg: Gurbanmyrat Ovezberdyev and Shatlyk Hemelayev

86 kg: Dovletmyrat Orazgylyjov

125 kg: Ziyamuhammet Saparov

The wrestlers will perform under the guidance of coach Yusup Melejayev.

Let us note that this World Championship is of particular importance, since it is pre-Olympic. The tournament will compete for 90 Olympic quotas for the Games in Paris 2024.
