President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov will visit Budapest on August 19-20. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations of Hungary, Peter Szijjártó.
“The Presidents of Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, the Kyrgyz Republic, as well as Turkmenistan will be in Budapest,” Szijjártó said at a press conference broadcast on social media.
According to him, President of the Republic of Serbian Bosnia and Herzegovina Milorad Dodik and a representative of the Presidium of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as former heads of government of Austria, Slovenia and the Czech Republic will also visit the Hungarian capital over the weekend.
Szijjártó also noted that the participants will discuss various issues, including energy security and the fight against illegal migration.
Earlier it was reported that President Serdar Berdimuhamedov accepted an invitation to visit Hungary, which was announced on June 9 during an official visit to Turkmenistan by Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
Earlier, the head of the Hungarian government also said that he would hold more than 10 bilateral meetings over the weekend.
In Hungary, on August 20, the national holiday of the founding of the state is celebrated - St. Stephen's Day. In addition, the World Championships in Athletics will start in Budapest on August 19.
