Scientists have once again proved the usefulness of communication with animals for human health, writes Mail.ru. According to research, after 5-20 minutes of communication with a dog, even with a stranger, the level of the stress hormone cortisol decreases.

There is also an increase in the level of oxytocin - the hormone of well-being and feelings of affection. Moreover, communication is useful for both parties - dogs also increase the level of the “hormone of happiness”.

In addition, communication with dogs stimulates brain activity. Researchers have found that students who interact with animals twice a week experience less stress from the learning process and show better results.
