A shopping center will be built in the Turkmen-Uzbek border zone of the Dashoguz velayat.
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov on Friday signed the Decree, allowing the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations to conclude a contract for its design and construction with the repair and construction unit of the subordinated Central Department of the Association of Consumer Societies.
The contract also includes the improvement of the adjacent territory and the laying of external supply engineering systems for communication, electricity and water supply.
The facility will be built in order to further strengthen the trade and economic relations of Turkmenistan with neighboring countries, as well as in accordance with the Agreement signed on October 5, 2021 between the Government of Turkmenistan and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the establishment and regulation of the activities of the Turkmen-Uzbek border trade zone - a shopping center.
The document prescribes to start construction work in July 2023 and to hand over the shopping center with full readiness for operation in July 2025, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reports.
