Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will create a border trade zone. The corresponding agreement was signed today following a summit meeting in Tashkent, the press service of the Uzbek leader said.
The agreement on the creation and regulation of the activities of the Uzbek-Turkmen zone of border trade provides for the creation of a Trade Center in adjacent territories, the report says.
"The conclusion of the Agreement on the creation of a border trade zone, as well as an agreement to replace imports from third countries with competitive products produced in Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan and in demand in the markets of both countries will contribute to an increase in mutual trade," President Shavkat Mirziyoyev emphasized.
It should be noted that an increase in trade turnover is one of the directions for the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The countries plan to significantly increase the indicators of bilateral trade in the coming years and bring it to 1 billion USD.
