Ashgabat's “Kopetdag” stadium took 75th place in the ranking of the 100 best arenas in the world according to the authoritative British publication FourFourTwo.
The rating was compiled taking into account five criteria: history, atmosphere, capacity, architecture and environment.
“Kopetdag” became the only arena from Turkmenistan, which was presented in the list.
The first place in the ranking was taken by the “Bombonera” stadium. On the second line is the arena “Maracana”, on the third – “Signal Iduna Park”.

“Kopetdag” is a multi-purpose stadium in the capital of Turkmenistan. Was built in 1997. After the reconstruction, completed in 2015, it can accommodate 26 503 people. The arena of the local football club “Kopetdag”. Until 2017, it was the largest sports facility in the country. It is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Turkmenistan.
