Two kilometers of road on the border of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan will be improved

On the border of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan in the Karakiya district of the Mangistau region, a new checkpoint “Temir-Baba” is being built and the old one is being repaired. The cost of the project is 6 billion tenge, the completion date is July 2024, Forbes Kazakhstan reports with reference to the press service of the district akimat.

Two wells with a desalination plant will be dug at the border post. There are two kilometers of road between the two countries, on which footpaths with places for recreation will be made. 100 million tenge was allocated for these works.

JSC NC “KazAvtoZhol” also proposed to restore 48 km of the worn-out road from the Kenderli recreation area to the post. Almost 4 million kg of vegetables were transported through the “Temir-Baba” customs post in January-June 2023, the akimat noted.
