At least 55 whales have washed ashore in Scotland. They were found on the Isle of Lewis, MIR 24 reports.
As noted in the source, the mammals followed the female, who was seriously ill, so she rushed to land. The whole flock followed her - this is how it is customary for whales.
Local media called the incident the largest mass whale suicide recorded in the UK in the last 70 years.
