Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sent condolences to the President of the Republic of Korea


The National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov sent deep condolences to the President of the Republic of Korea Yoon Suk Yeol in connection with the floods that occurred in the country due to heavy rains, which led to human casualties, injuries, as well as large-scale destruction, announced the news program “Watan” of Turkmen television.

The head of the highest representative body of the people's power of Turkmenistan, on behalf of the Halk Maslahaty and on his own behalf, expressed sincere empathy and support at this difficult moment to the families and friends of the victims, as well as wishes for a speedy recovery to the victims.

Showers in the Republic of Korea have been going on since July 9. They destroyed tens of thousands of agricultural lands, damaged 146 roads and 139 buildings. Landslides and floods killed 39 people. Nine people went missing and 34 people were injured, according to Korean Yonhap news agency.

The death toll could rise as rescuers continue to drain and search a flooded vehicle tunnel near Cheongju city in central Chungcheongbuk-do province where 15 vehicles are believed to be underwater.
