Today in Astana, in the conference hall of the National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the 15th meeting of the Asian Committee “Storytelling Art” began its work.
The two-day international event is held with the participation of scientists and specialists, national experts from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, the Republic of Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, and Uzbekistan. Turkmenistan has delegated Gozel Magtymgulyeva, Head of the Office of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Ministry of Culture of the country, to Astana.
The Asian Committee “Storytelling Art” is designed to promote the intensification of intercultural exchange in the field of literature, the study, careful preservation and popularization in the world of the unique spiritual and cultural heritage of the peoples of the region, the implementation of joint projects to collect national epics, myths and legends.
During the meeting, national reviews will be presented on the study of oral folk art, the creation of a unified database of original works and new illustrated editions. The participants of the meeting will consider the possibilities of organizing festivals of storytelling art of Asian countries in order to popularize this original creativity rich in traditions, to reveal in a new way the original works of the epic genre that have survived to this day.
In the afternoon, it is planned to receive the participants of the meeting at the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The program of the event on July 12 includes a meeting at the National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as an excursion to the “Nur Alem” Museum of Future Energy.
