On July 3, a 5,4 magnitude earthquake struck the Caspian Sea, reports the European Mediterranean Seismological Center.
The strongest tremors were felt in Baku and other cities of Azerbaijan - Guba, Khachmaz, Siyazan and Sumgayit. Residents of the country's capital on Monday evening did not dare to return to their homes for a long time, fearing new aftershocks. There is no information about casualties and damage.
The epicenter was located in the sea area, 46 kilometers northeast of the city of Khachmaz, at a depth of about 35 kilometers.
The earthquake was felt not only in Azerbaijan, but also in Dagestan.
