Turkmen football players from the 2023/2024 season will not be considered legionnaires in the Turkish championship, reports Ulysmedia.kz.
The corresponding decision was made by the Turkish Football Federation. It should be noted that under the new rules, a maximum of one player who is a citizen of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan will not be considered a legionnaire in the club.
The new season in the Turkish Super League will start on August 11.
According to Fotospor, “Trabzonspor” was the first to become interested in the new amendments, and is already actively looking for a football player for the position of a central defender to rotate the squad from the national teams of the Turkic states.
