At the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean, about 500 meters from the bow of the Titanic, the wreckage of the missing Titanic bathyscaphe was discovered, the MIR 24 portal reported.

The death of the bathyscaphe was confirmed by representatives of the US Coast Guard. U.S. Coast Guard Rear Admiral John Mauger said the wreckage found was evidence of catastrophic damage to the passenger capsule. Simply put, the body of the apparatus could not withstand the pressure of water and collapsed.

All five people who were in the bathyscaphe were declared dead: British billionaire Hamish Harding, founder of OceanGate Stockton Rush, French professional aquanaut Paul-Henri Nargolet, British businessman of Pakistani origin Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleiman.

Bathyscaphe "Titan" went to the crash site of the famous passenger liner on Sunday from the island of Newfoundland. Approximately two hours after the device sank, communication with it was lost. The search for the missing device was carried out on an area of almost 30 thousand square kilometers. It was assumed that oxygen supplies on the bathyscaphe would run out on June 22.

The reasons why the bathyscaphe stopped communicating and could not surface on its own are being investigated. It is assumed that the device could catch on something at the bottom or get stuck among the wreckage of the Titanic. Even before the dive, Stockton Rush reported that the hull of the submersible had "signs of cyclic fatigue." Perhaps this was the reason that the walls of the bathyscaphe could not withstand the pressure of water at a depth of about 3 thousand meters, and the device fell apart.
