In Scotland, they are trying to restore the population of the local subspecies of the cat family - the Scottish wild cat, they write "Arguments and Facts". Several specially bred captive animals have been released into the wild within the Cairngorms National Park.

The Scottish wild cat (not to be confused with the Scottish fold "Scottish fold") has long lived in the northern part of the island of Great Britain. Outwardly, it resembles a domestic one, but is larger than it, with a pronounced striped color. She settled mainly in the valleys and hunted small wild rodents, birds, lizards.

The wild Scottish cat began to disappear as a species due to crossing with domestic cats. Biologists are trying to restore the population of these animals, returning them to "purebred".
