Deputy Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Vepa Hajiyev will take part in the events of the High-Level Counter-Terrorism Week, which will be held at the UN Headquarters in New York from June 19 to 20.
According to the Permanent Mission of Turkmenistan to the UN, the third Conference of the Heads of Counter-Terrorism Institutions of the UN Member States will be devoted to the theme “Combating terrorism through the intensification of multilateralism and institutional cooperation”.
The conference will provide Member States, UN agencies, international and regional organizations, civil society organizations and the private sector with a platform to exchange information, experiences and best practices. It will also consider opportunities for expanding cooperation in key priority areas in the fight against terrorism within the four main areas of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy.
The participation of V. Hajiyev in high-level events underlines the firm commitment of Turkmenistan to the fight against terrorism and ensuring regional and global security. During his visit, he will take part in the plenary session of the Conference and side events to share the experience of Turkmenistan in the fight against terrorism and exchange views in this regard with the leaders of other national delegations.
V. Hajiyev will also take part in bilateral meetings with UN officials and international partners to strengthen partnerships and explore ways to expand cooperation.
The Conference will be an important milestone for the preparation of the New Agenda for Peace proposed by the Secretary-General in his report on our common agenda.
