Russian hockey player, three-time world champion Alexander Ovechkin decided to patent his legendary phrase “I'm okay. Russian machine never breaks”, uttered by him in 2006, writes the TASS agency.
Ovechkin said his famous phrase after the match as part of the “Washington” team. He was accidentally hit by a “Washington” defender's puck, after which Ovechkin fell onto the ice and was forced to leave the site. The next day, in an interview with journalists about the state of health, the hockey player uttered words about the “Russian machine”, which never breaks down.
Ovechkin filed for a patent on the phrase at the end of May. If his application is approved, the use of the phrase without the consent of its author will be prohibited.
Speaking as part of the Russian national hockey team, Alexander Ovechkin became the world champion three times (in 2008, 2012, 2014), he is also the owner of the Stanley Cup as part of the “Washington” team. With 822 goals, Ovechkin is second only to
Canadian forward Wayne Gretzky, who scored 894 goals.
