Late this evening, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov returned to Ashgabat, having completed a two-day working visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Watan news program of the Turkmen television reported.
During the visit, the National Leader of the Turkmen people held talks with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, the agenda of which included the whole range of issues of Turkmen-Iranian relations, progressively developing both in bilateral and multilateral formats.
The talks demonstrated the firm commitment of Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran to the traditionally friendly interstate dialogue. As a result of the meeting, important agreements were reached and a package of documents was signed, as well as a Joint Declaration was adopted, which confirms the intention of the two neighboring countries to further strengthen and develop fruitful cooperation across its entire spectrum.
On the first day of the visit, the head of the highest representative body of the people's power of Turkmenistan also met with the head of the Council of Political Expediency of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Sadeq Amoli Larijani, and the chairman of the Mejlis of the Islamic Shura of Iran, Mohammad-Bager Ghalibaf, at a meeting with whom the National Leader of the Turkmen people voiced a proposal to create an inter-parliamentary group.
On the second day of his working visit to Iran, the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited Iran's industrial complex Mapna Group, which unites dozens of companies, where he got acquainted with its activities. After that, the head of the Halk Maslahaty held a meeting with the Supreme Spiritual Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Having completed his working visit, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan proceeded to Tehran's Mehrabad International Airport, from where he left for his homeland.
Upon arrival at the Ashgabat International Airport, the head of the highest representative body of the people's power of Turkmenistan was met by officials.
Here, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also had a conversation with a representative of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Turkmenistan, who cordially congratulated him on a successful visit, which became a new effective step towards the development of invariably friendly, good-neighborly interstate relations.
