Turkmenistan
1. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov signed a Decree on awarding the honorary title of “Honored Carpet Weaver of Turkmenistan” to 11 craftswomen. The honorary title was conferred on the occasion of the Turkmen Carpet Day, which is traditionally celebrated on the last Sunday of May.
2. Preparations are underway in Turkmenistan for the summer vacation season and the organization of children's recreation in Turkmenistan. Every year during the summer vacation season, children can relax and improve their health in the Gökdere children's health centers near Ashgabat, as well as in the country's velayats and in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone. Sending off ceremonies for schoolchildren to Gökdere health centers will be organized on June 2.
4. A student of the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Serdar Rahymov was awarded the title of “Best Student of the CIS”. Serdar won this title in an international competition organized by the International Association of Young Scientists. The contribution of the Turkmen student to the development of education, science, art and sports in the CIS was highly appreciated by the jury members of the competition: he was awarded a diploma of the 1st degree, as well as the medal “Best Student of the CIS” in 2023.
5. In the Astrakhan Region, in the village of Tri Protoka, Privolzhsky District, Astrakhan Region, the XIII All-Russian Rural Sabantuy took place. On the territory of the ethnovillage that opened here, one could get acquainted with the cultures of different peoples. On the territory of the Turkmen farmstead, 3 yurts decorated with national patterns were installed. In the yurts, guests could get acquainted with book and art exhibitions, as well as customs, culture and traditions of the Turkmen people.
6. Mufti of Turkmenistan Yalkap Hojagulyev declared his readiness to participate in the events of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia and accepted the invitation to attend the celebrations dedicated to the 235th anniversary of the Organization. He said this during the joint summit of the spiritual leaders of Muslims of Turkmenistan and Russia, at which issues of cooperation and interaction in the Eurasian space were discussed.

7. The winners of the 76th Cannes Film Festival 2023 have been announced. 21 works were presented to the jury. The Grand Prix of the festival was awarded to the British director Jonathan Glaser for the film “Zone of Interest”, based on the novel by Martin Amis about the family of the commandant of Auschwitz. The best film and the winner of the Palme d'Or was the work of director Justine Triet “Trajectory of the Fall” - a detective story about a writer accused of killing her husband.
8. Kazakhstan attracts an increasing number of foreign tourists. Since the beginning of this year, the tourist flow to the country has grown by 11 percent compared to last year, most of the tourists are from Russia, Türkiye and India. Among the cities of the country, the capital Astana, as well as Almaty, Shymkent, and the seaside city of Aktau are of the greatest interest to foreign tourists.

9. In the championship of Turkmenistan on football among the clubs of the Major League, all the matches of the first round have ended. According to the results of 9 rounds, the first place in the standings was taken by “Arkadag”, which has 24 points. In second place in the table is “Altyn asyr”, which is seven points behind the leader. On the third line – “Nebitchi” (16 points). “Ahal”, the current champion of Turkmenistan, is in ninth place with 3 points.
10. Chairman of the Ice Hockey Federation of Turkmenistan Jora Hudayberdiyev met with the President of the International Ice Hockey Federation Luc Tardif within the framework of the International Congress in Tampere. During the meeting between the two sports functionaries, the development of hockey in Turkmenistan was discussed. Tardif noted the progress in the development of Turkmen hockey.
11. Within the framework of preparations for the championship of Central Asia among boys and girls under 12 years old, the national tennis team of Turkmenistan under the leadership of senior coach Yuri Rogussky is holding a training camp in Tashkent. According to the Tennis Federation of Turkmenistan, 18 players and 3 coaches were invited to this camp. Let us note that in the championship of Central Asia among boys and girls under 12, which will be held in Ashgabat from June 5 to 9, teams from Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan will compete with the national team of Turkmenistan.
