Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Thailand Apirat Sugondhabhirom has been accredited in Turkmenistan today.
The ambassador's credentials were accepted by the Chairman of the Mejlis, Dunyagozel Gulmanova, on behalf of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, announced the “Watan” news program of the Turkmen television.
King of Thailand Maha Vajiralongkorn in his message to the President of Turkmenistan, in particular notes:
“The conscientiousness and high personal qualities of Mr. Apirat Sugondhabhirom give us confidence that he will justify the mission entrusted to him to promote the welfare and advancement of the interests of our two countries and earn the approval of Your Excellency”.
Thanking for the warm welcome, the Ambassador conveyed the best wishes from the leadership of Thailand to the President of Turkmenistan and assured that he would make every effort to further deepen and expand interstate relations traditionally built from the standpoint of equality, trust and mutual respect.
The Ambassador noted that the Kingdom of Thailand highly appreciates and fully supports the active peace-loving policy pursued by the head of Turkmenistan, important international initiatives.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of strengthening inter-parliamentary ties and exchanging accumulated legislative experience in the context of the prospects for Turkmen-Thai cooperation, developed both on a bilateral and multilateral basis, primarily within the UN and other authoritative international structures.
The Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand was also informed about the progress of grandiose transformations and large-scale reforms carried out in Turkmenistan.
