President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov arrived today in Tajikistan on a state visit, reports “Asia-Plus” with reference to the press service of the head of the Tajik state.
At the Dushanbe International Airport, he was met by the Prime Minister of Tajikistan, Kokhir Rasulzoda.
The program of the visit includes a meeting of the heads of Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, during which the parties will consider a wide range of issues related to bilateral cooperation.
Signing of new cooperation documents is also expected.
Let us remind that earlier the visit of the President of Turkmenistan to Dushanbe was scheduled for April 10-11, but was postponed due to the death of Serdar Berdimuhamedov's grandmother.
On the eve of the visit of Serdar Berdimuhamedov, on May 8, the National Library of Tajikistan hosted the first meeting of the Turkmen-Tajik Business Council and a joint business forum. The events brought together more than 250 participants - representatives of the public and private sectors of the two countries.
As a result, more than 20 cooperation documents were signed.
According to the Tajik national news agency “Khovar”, the volume of foreign trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan in 2022 amounted to 52,9 million USD, which is 30,7 million USD or 2,3 times more compared to the same period in 2021.
