Turkmen doctors will go on a humanitarian mission to Afghanistan

Medical specialists of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan will go on a humanitarian mission to Afghanistan in order to provide medical and advisory assistance to the Afghan people. This was reported by the State News Agency TDH.

“The President of Turkmenistan signed a Decree in accordance with which the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry, together with the relevant ministries and departments, are instructed to ensure that in accordance with the established procedure, relevant doctors of health care institutions of the Ministry of Health and Medical Industry of Turkmenistan are sent to the village of Turgundi in the province of Herat of Afghanistan to work in May 2023 in order to provide medical and advisory assistance in the maternity hospital built in the above-mentioned village as humanitarian aid on behalf of Turkmenistan,” the state news agency said in a statement.

It is worth noting that the head of state also ordered to donate medicines and medical supplies, goods and food products to the Afghan side as humanitarian aid.

Earlier, the Consulate General of Turkmenistan in the Afghan province of Herat held a humanitarian action on the territory of the maternity hospital in the city of Turgundi, built in 2016 as humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.
