The traditional annual festival of young guitarists named after Islam Babayev gathered in the Small Hall of the Turkmen National Conservatory named after M. Kuliyeva pupils of the capital's children's music schools № 3, № 4 and №. 5, the Special Music Boarding School under the Turkmen National Conservatory, students of the Turkmen State Special Music School named after. D. Ovezov, students of the Turkmen National Conservatory and amateur guitarists.
According to the edition “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, within the framework of the festival, a concert dedicated to the memory of the popularizer of classical guitar in Turkmenistan, musician Islam Babayev was held.
The opening of the festival was the brothers Toyly and Mekan Dortgulyevs, who arrived from Mary velayat. They study at the Mollanepes Children's Art School in the city of Mary.
- We take part in various concerts in Mary, but we performed at the Turkmen National Conservatory for the first time. It is a great honor for us”, says Toyly Dortgulyev. - There is a whole generation of self-taught guitarists in our family, and I am very glad that I have the opportunity to get an education at the state music school, to learn from professional teachers. After graduating from school, I plan to enter a music school in Ashgabat.
The amateur guitarist Rustam Atayev, a student of an experienced teacher Murad Kurbanov, also brightly declared himself. The students of the teacher of the 3rd Ashgabat music school Leyla Nasyrova also showed their talent: Sonya Nasyrova, Milana Kaletinskaya and Merjen Meredova. They performed a medley of works by foreign composers.
