From April 29, passengers arriving from Turkmenistan to China were permitted to take an antigen test instead of the mandatory PCR test for COVID-19. The corresponding announcement was posted by the Chinese Embassy in Turkmenistan on the official website.

In accordance with regulations, the passenger must be tested 48 hours before boarding the aircraft, and then upload the test results through the Chinese Customs mobile app or website. In addition, it will be necessary to fill out a health declaration, after which the tourist will receive a QR code that is checked upon arrival. According to the embassy, airlines do not need to check test results before boarding a plane.

More details about the rules can be found on the website of the Chinese Embassy in Turkmenistan.

Let us remind that China announced the resumption of the issuance of tourist visas to foreigners in March 2023.

China and Turkmenistan are connected by direct flights of two airlines. “Turkmenistan” Airlines operates regular flights from Ashgabat to Beijing. The Chinese carrier China Southern Airlines flies on the route Urumqi (URC) - Ashgabat (ASB) - Urumqi (URC) once a week.
