Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the OPCW accredited in The Hague

Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Belgium Sapar Palvanov has been accredited in The Hague as Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW). On Monday, he presented his credentials to OPCW Director-General Fernando Arias.

Within the framework of the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for cooperation between the OPCW and Turkmenistan.

Conveying warm greetings and best wishes from the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the Director General of the OPCW, S. Palvanov noted that, as the Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the OPCW, he would make every effort to further strengthen bilateral relations in all areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.

Director General Fernando Arias underlined that in the face of constant growth and change in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, one of the main tasks of the Organization is to constantly monitor the production and storage of chemicals, their proper use and the transparency of their trade.

The Turkmen side proposed holding joint conferences, seminars and trainings with the OPCW in the field of ensuring and managing chemical safety, reports the Turkmen Foreign Ministry.
