The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan has addressed the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation with a proposal to increase the quotas of state-funded places in institutions of secondary vocational and higher education to 500 this year, TASS reports citing Yulia Zaytseva, First Secretary of the Russian Embassy in Turkmenistan, representative of Rossotrudnichestvo.

According to her, for the upcoming academic year, a quota of 250 state-funded places in institutions of secondary vocational and higher education has been allocated for the citizens of Turkmenistan, but the number of applications exceeds 2 000. Applicants will have to pass tests in a remote format and pass interviews, based on the results of which they will form a rating, on the basis of which they will make a decision on enrolling in Russian universities.

“In view of the high demand, Rossotrudnichestvo and relevant Turkmen departments have requested an increase in quotas to 500 for this year. The Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan addressed the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation with the same proposal,” she explained.

Quotas imply the admission of Turkmen citizens to study in educational programs of secondary vocational education, higher education and additional professional education in the Russian Federation. Particular attention is paid to medical and creative areas of training. For the first time this year, new areas of specialties have been added through the Ministry of Transport of Russia.
