A seminar on the prevention of illegal trade in ozone-depleting substances was held for cadets of initial training at the State Customs Service of Turkmenistan.
According to the website of the Service, the seminar was organized by the Ozone Center under the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan within the framework of a joint project with the United Nations Executive Committee for Industrial Development (UNIDO).
The participants of the seminar learned about the aspects of Turkmenistan's fulfillment of its obligations under the Montreal Protocol, the Kigali Amendment to the Montreal Protocol, the Vienna Convention for the Protection of the Ozone Layer, and also studied the legislative acts and regulations for the protection of the ozone layer in the country, the role of the customs service in the control of ozone-depleting substances.
Upon completion, the customs officers received certificates of successful completion of the seminar.
