From February 23 to March 5, athletes of the national team of Turkmenistan will take part in the II Winter International Sports Games "Children of Asia", which will be held in Russia.
At these competitions, Turkmenistan will be represented in three disciplines - figure skating, short track and snow volleyball, according to the publication "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
The solemn opening ceremony of the event will take place on February 25 at the Kuzbass Ice Palace in Kemerovo. The competition will be attended by representatives from 13 countries, including Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Mongolia.
Turkmen figure skaters will perform short and free programs on February 27 and March 1 at the Oleg Korolenko Arena of Kuznetsk Metallurgists in Novokuznetsk.
The speed skaters of the national team of Turkmenistan will compete for the championship in the short track at distances of 500 and 1000 meters in the Kuzbass Ice Palace. Tournaments in this sport will be held on February 28 and March 1.
In snow volleyball, Turkmenistan will be represented by 4 athletes. The organizers intend to hold competitions in this discipline, as well as snowboarding and freestyle, in the Sheregesh ski resort in the Tashtagol district of the Kemerovo region, CentralAsia.news specifies.
