Head of Iran football federation (IFF) Mehdi Taj said that an agreement on conduction of a friendly match with the national team of Russia is reached, reports parsfoootbal.com.
“The football game between the Iranian national team and the Russian national team in Tehran is planned on March. We have also invited to Tehran the Russian women’s mini-football team. We have good cooperation with Russia, and this cooperation will expand”, “Match TV” quoted the statement of Taj.
Currently, the post of head coach of the national team of Iran is vacant. The former team coach, Portuguese specialist Carlos Queiroz, was dismissed after the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
A few days ago, a meeting was held in Tehran between the Minister of Sports of Russia Oleg Matytsin and Iran’s Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Hamid Sajad Hazave, where a Memorandum of Understanding on the development of cooperation between the countries in sports field was signed.
