President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov has sent heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic on the occasion of the National holiday of the Republic of Serbia – the Day of Statehood, celebrated today, the “Neutral Turkmenistan” newspaper reports.
Taking advantage of this pleasant opportunity, Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed wishes of good health, happiness, wellbeing and peace to President Aleksandar Vucic and peace, further progress and prosperity to all the people of the Republic of Serbia.
Serbia's Statehood Day, the main National holiday of this Balkan country, is celebrated on February 15. Traditionally on this day various events are held. Top officials of the state, senior military officials and representatives of various public and non-governmental organizations participate in laying wreaths at the Monument to the Unknown Hero on Aval, in the Marichev Ravine, near the monument to Karadjordje Petrovich and at other memorial sites. Memorial services are held in many churches of the country.
Moreover, in festive days Serbian leader presents the highest state awards, including to the representatives of foreign countries for strengthening bilateral relations.
It should be noted that diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Serbia were established on August 26, 1996.
