In Kazan has started the first hockey tournament Kazan Hockey Cup among the teams of Islamiс сountires and the Republic of Tatarstan.
The opening ceremony took place on the ice of the Sports Palace, reports the press-service of the Ministry of Sports of Tatarstan.
The competition brought together more than 300 athletes and functionaries from 13 countries.
In the first match of the hockey tournaments of Islamic countries, the national team of Turkmenistan lost to the team of Tatarstan with a score of 2:7.
Results of the remaining matches:
- HC “Ak Bars” — UAE — 3:6
- Algeria-Morocco-Lebanon — Saudi Arabia — 3:11
- Uzbekistan — Bahrain — 17:0
- Tatarstan — Bahrain — 11:1 (women)
The tournament among 12 men's and 5 women's teams will last until January 17 at two arenas: the Sports Palace and “Tatneft Arena” in Kazan.
On January 15, the team of Turkmenistan will play against Kyrgyzstan.
