From January 8, 2023, China will lift some restrictions due to COVID-19 on international passenger flights, reports the Civil Aviation Administration of China.

Starting from January 8, Chinese and foreign airlines will operate passenger flights in accordance with bilateral transport agreements, and limits on the number of flights will no longer apply.

In addition, the country's authorities will cancel the requirement according to which the number of passengers on flights should not exceed 75% of the aircraft's capacity.

China will gradually resume accepting applications for international passenger charter flights from national and foreign airlines, and by summer-autumn 2023, it will fully restore the procedures and requirements that were in effect before the pandemic.

Let us remind that in March 2020, due to the high risk of importing COVID-19 into the country, the department published a circular, according to which restrictions were imposed on the number of international flights operated by Chinese and foreign airlines.
