Agricultural scientists of Turkmenistan carried out a number of developments in 2022

In 2022, agricultural scientists of Turkmenistan carried out work aimed at solving such strategic tasks as providing industry with raw materials and creating food abundance in the country.

The work was carried out in such areas as: breeding high-yielding varieties of various crops; development of new biological methods for reducing land salinity and improving their fertility; development of innovative water- and resource-saving technologies and biological methods of preparing cotton seeds for sowing; technologies for growing orchards on saline soils; creation of technical means for measuring and regulating water for irrigation of crops, etc.

Scientists of the Academy of Sciences and the Center for Technology of Turkmenistan this year presented their development “Innovative technology of soil biofertilization” to reduce the salinity of sown areas. It was also tested in the field.

The Concept of rational use of irrigation water in Turkmenistan has also been prepared and work is underway to improve it.

In addition, scientists of the Academy of Sciences invented the composition of finely divided mineral-organic complex fertilizer and a method for its preparation, which is of industrial and agricultural importance. It is expected that in the future the method will be widely introduced into production.

As reports the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age”, at present, varieties of medium-staple cotton “Ahal-5”, “Yolöten-52”, “Yolöten-54”, “Dashoguz- 150”, “Ashgabat-140”, “Garashsyzlyk-30” and fine-staple cotton “Yolöten -56”, as well as various varieties of soft and hard winter wheat, barley, soybeans, grapes – “Rovach” and “Shaserpay”.
