In 2023, Uzbek Bukhara will transfer to Turkish Istanbul the title of “Youth capital of the Turkic world”.

As it is known, in the Turkic world, 2022 was declared the “Year of support for youth initiatives”, and the Uzbek city of Bukhara became the first youth capital.

Within the framework of the IV Forum of Young Leaders of the Organization of Turkic States, which was held in Bukhara on June 3-4, the opening of the monument “Bukhara - the first capital of youth initiatives of the Turkic world” and the “Park of the youth of the Turkic world” was held. A presentation of megaprojects to support youth in Bukhara was also organized. All events and meetings of the forum covered more than 10 thousand young people.

The implementation by Bukhara of its powers as the youth capital of the Turkic world made it possible to create opportunities for a constant exchange of experience between the leading young leaders of the member countries of the Organization of Turkic States in the field of entrepreneurship, culture, art, sports, media, and science.

Istanbul will continue to work in this direction in 2023. This proposal was voiced at the VI meeting of the Ministers of Youth and Sports of the Organization of Turkic States (OTG) held in Bursa. The meeting was held within the framework of the IV World Nomad Games.

“We believe that our Istanbul will carry this title with pride and that it will strengthen brotherhood and loyalty among the youth of the Turkic world and strengthen our cooperation”, said Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoglu, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Türkiye.
