From September 1, 2023, Russia plans to increase by 18% the quota for studying in Russian universities for students from European countries, writes the “Izvestia” newspaper.
Higher educational institutions in Russia are preparing to accept 1482 students from Europe next autumn (this year 1255 people have already been enrolled), thus, the total number of places for foreigners for the 2023-2024 academic year will reach 30 thousand.
The top 10 applications for admission to Russian universities and institutes include all the Baltic countries, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Slovakia, Serbia, as well as France and Türkiye. There is a growing interest in studying in Russia among applicants from Germany and Austria.
