A number of agreements are being prepared aimed at strengthening bilateral economic and investment cooperation between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea.
As reports newscentralasia with reference to a press release from the Korean Parliament, the issues of the early signing of a bilateral agreement on guaranteeing investments were considered during a meeting in Seoul between Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Chairman of the Nominal Assembly of Korea Kim Jin Pyo.
Kim Jin Pyo expressed hope that negotiations on an investment guarantee agreement would be completed as soon as possible, which would intensify investment cooperation between the two countries.
Also, both countries are preparing to sign an agreement on trade and economic cooperation, designed to expand economic partnership.
According to the head of the Korean Parliament, projects such as the Korea International Cooperation Foundation (KOICA) Center for Professional Training of Personnel for the Gas Industry (opened in Turkmenistan in September 2020) and the Information Access Center can become the basis for diversifying cooperation and growth in bilateral relations.
Earlier, we reported that Turkmenistan and Korea signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between the parliaments.
