The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan has expressed its deep condolences in connection with the untimely death of the head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry Vladimir Vladimirovich Makei.
“Vladimir Vladimirovich has made a great contribution to the development of the diplomatic service of Belarus, clearly, systematically and consistently implemented the foreign policy of his country, defended its position and interests in the international political arena”, the press release of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry said today.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan particularly noted the efforts of Makei in the work of strengthening and development of traditionally friendly bilateral Turkmen – Belarusian relations.
“Vladimir Vladimirovich Makei will always remain in our memory as a highly professional diplomat, a modest and decent man, a sincere and devoted friend”, stresses the press-release of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
Makei died suddenly on November 26 at the age of 64. He has been the head of the Foreign Ministry of Belarus since August 22, 2012. Before that, from 2008 to 2012, he was the head of the Presidential Administration of Belarus and was an Assistant of the Head of State for eight years.
