Consul of Turkmenistan in Astrakhan (RF) Nury Golliev visited Astrakhan State Medical University, reports the official website of the university.
Nury Golliev held a meeting with the rector of the educational institution Olga Bashkina and the teaching staff.
“There are many points of cooperation - these are scientific and practical conferences, joint scientific research, academic exchange, holding joint medical Olympiads and other events”, - Olga Bashkina said at the meeting.
Vice-Rector for International Affairs of the Astrakhan State Medical University Larisa Udochkina said that currently, within the framework of a memorandum of cooperation with colleagues from the Myrat Garryev State Medical University of Turkmenistan, joint work is planned on research within the framework of the standardization of medicinal plant materials and herbal remedies, the study of the physicochemical, spectral and pharmacological properties of biologically active substances of plant origin, as well as the conduct of experimental work to determine the pharmacological activity of certain types of medicinal plants.
“The areas of activity of our university are different, so we see an opportunity in strengthening and expanding cooperation not only with universities, but also with representatives of the medical community of Turkmenistan”, - rector Olga Bashkina emphasized.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed a number of topical issues related to the education of citizens from Turkmenistan at the Astrakhan State Medical University.
“We are ready for cooperation in all areas, students can also contact the consulate for help”, - said Nury Golliev.
The parties agreed on an early meeting of the consul with the students within the walls of the university.
To date, 180 students from Turkmenistan are studying at the university in various specialties and areas of training, medical residents are undergoing postgraduate training.
In 2019, between the Astrakhan State Medical University and Myrat Garryev State Medical University of Turkmenistan signed a memorandum on joint research work.
