“Manchester City” have the most expensive starting XI in Europe's top leagues

The International Center for Sports Research (CIES) on its official website has provided a list of European clubs with the most expensive starting lineups.

The study looked at teams from the top five European leagues: the English Premier League, the Spanish La Liga, the German Bundesliga, the Italian Serie A and the French Ligue 1.

The average price of 11 players from the basis of “Manchester City” this season in the Premier League is 605 million euros (as much as the “citizens” spent on the purchase of these players). The most expensive starting lineup for “Manchester City” came out on October 22 in a match with “Brighton” (3: 1) - 726 million euros.

The top three also included “Paris Saint-Germain” (510 million euro) and “Manchester United” (480 million euro).

The top 10 clubs with the most expensive starting lineups (as of October 23) are as follows:

  • “Manchester City” - 605 million euros;
  • “PSG” - 510;
  • “Manchester United” - 480;
  • “Liverpool” - 409;
  • “Chelsea” - 393;
  • “Arsenal” - 382;
  • “Real Madrid” - 370;
  • “Barcelona” - 334;
  • “Juventus” - 300;
  • “Bayern” - 294.
