As we previously reported, the international conference “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan – 2022” is being held in Ashgabat.

At a session on investment opportunities in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea, Natalie Costello, director of the advisory committee of Trans Caspian Resources, Inc., announced the idea of developing a 78-kilometer Trans-Caspian connecting gas pipeline between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan to transport gas from existing offshore platforms. This was reported in the newspaper “Neutral Turkmenistan”.

Costello said the idea is to ship natural gas from existing offshore production facilities in Turkmenistan to existing offshore platforms in Azerbaijan.

This gas pipeline with a capacity of 10-12 billion m3 will connect the gas produced in Turkmenistan with the Southern Gas Corridor.

- American inventor Thomas Edison once said: “The value of an idea lies in its use”. The idea of the Trans-Caspian gas pipeline has been nurtured by individual companies over the past two decades, the time has come to use this idea and bring it to life, - said Natalie Costello.
