Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Brussels Sapar Palvanov, who officially took office, presented his credentials to King Philippe Leopold of Belgium, reports diplomatmagazine.
The reception was held on October 13 at the Royal Palace of Brussels.
During the meeting, S. Palvanov assured the King of Belgium of the firm position of the Government of Turkmenistan, aimed at bringing bilateral relations with the Kingdom of Belgium, and, accordingly, with the European Union to a new higher level.
Let us remind, the Decree on the appointment of Sapar Palvanov Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Belgium (Brussels) was signed by President Serdar Berdimuhamedov in July this year.
S. Palvanov is fluent in English, Russian and Turkish. He has been in the diplomatic service since 2013, worked as a teacher at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan. Since 2015, he specialized in the department for the countries of the Americas at the country's Foreign Ministry, and in 2018 he became the head of this department, the source said.
The Turkmen diplomatic mission in Brussels is also responsible for relations with the European Union, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, as well as with the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
