Uzbekistan exported 471 tons of peaches to Turkmenistan

In the first nine months of this year, Uzbekistan exported 471 tons of peaches to Turkmenistan, reports EastFruit.

Almost the entire export volume (99% of the total volume) of peaches and nectarines from Uzbekistan was shipped to the markets of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. The rest was distributed among the importing countries: Turkmenistan - 471 tons, Tajikistan - 42 tons, Mongolia - 14 tons and the United Arab Emirates - 4 tons.

Peach and nectarine are an important source of Uzbekistan's export earnings in the fruit segment, this position is comparable in importance to cherries. Both positions are second only to fresh table grapes.

According to official statistics, for the period from the beginning of May to the end of September this year, Uzbekistan exported 76,7 thousand tons of peaches and nectarines for a total of 68,1 million USD, which is 38% more in kind and 55% more in terms of revenue compared to 2021.
