The UN Development Program, within the framework of a series of lectures dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan's accession to the UN, held a thematic lecture “Integration of social and environmental aspects in development projects: an example of a project in the field of healthcare” at the Myrat Garryev Turkmen State Medical University.
The purpose of the event was to highlight the importance of further integrating the social and environmental agenda into various projects and programs.
Shohrat Niyazmuradov, Environment and Social Analyst of the UNDP and World Bank project, spoke about development projects, their potential social and environmental risks and methods of managing them. Particular attention was paid to a practical example - the current project “Response to COVID-19 in Turkmenistan”.
There was a lively discussion during the event.
The development of effective solutions to potential social and environmental risks arising during the implementation phase of development projects requires the active participation of all stakeholders. In this case, the role of youth should not be underestimated, since it can play a special role in the development and establishment of these processes.
